LADDER AT LUZ

DESCRIPTION:
This indoor screen was first exhibited at a BAMM selected exhibition at Lichfield Cathedral in 2011, to celebrate 400 years of the King James Bible.

It is a visual narrative the story of Jacob's Ladder, reading from left to right as: the desert, the dream and the temple. It is inclusive of other belief systems in its symbols, and the writing beneath each panel is reminiscent of a child learning biblical text by rote. The wing panels draw the eye in to the multi-directional ladders of the centre. Ceramic and vitreous glass give it great depth and light within its cherry wood frame. The screen has also been exhibited amongst other venues at St Peter Hungate, Norwich, in 'Journeys Through the Light' a collaboration between Hungate Medieval Art and the University of East Anglia in 2012.

MATERIALS: Hand-painted ceramic/vitreous glass/gold/ceramic
SIZE: 171cm W (when flat) X 112.5cm H X 3cm D
